There are a few companies importing Lacrosse Balls that are marked with the legitimate marks but they are really selling Counterfeit Balls. You need to take precautions when being enticed by really low prices and making sure the company is not cutting corners.

What Is a Counterfeit Ball? A counterfeit ball is when an entity puts out for sale a ball that claims to be Certified by SEI and has met all of the NOCSAE standards. They do this by embossing these trademarks from these organizations, making it appear that the balls are legit.

Cutting Corners Certified Lacrosse balls are all governed by the Safety Equipment Institute or SEI. They certify that balls live up to the NOCSAE requirements. There are fees associated with this, Assurances, Insurances and continual testing procedures that need to be followed by the Factory and the Importer that some companies are trying to Avoid. This is one reason why they can charge less. These procedures and regulations by NOCSAE/SEI are there for the Safety of the players.

Non-Certified Lacrosse Balls We have been able to identify a few companies that are selling through various shopping channels. NOCSAE also is taking aggressive steps to stop the sale of counterfeit lacrosse balls by multiple illegitimate vendors, primarily on the Internet. In recent months, NOCSAE has worked with Amazon, GoDaddy and other online shopping platforms to shut down vendors selling lacrosse balls that have not been certified to the NOCSAE standard. Many Clubs and Teams are still unaware of the issue and can possibly be placing themselves, unknowingly in legal jeopardy, in the event someone gets hurt.

#1 - SIGNATURE LACROSSE

As of November 20th, SEI removed Signature Lacrosse from their website as an SEI Certified Participant (see bulletin). Their model 1.3, is no longer a certified lacrosse ball. Buyers beware, as they still push them as certified. Signature has been and will be dumping these balls as well as another model 1.7. Signature Lacrosse and it’s ownership have been caught disposing of non-certified lacrosse balls and dumping in big quantities to Retailers across the U.S.A.

Signature has been involved in moving counterfeit balls under the brand KSONE, through the website thelaxhouse.com. Bottom line, stay clear of Signature, until the day comes that they gain back their certification.

#2 - KSONE

KSONE is a ball that is being dumped in the U.S. market on a website called THELAXHOUSE.com as well as Amazon. LAXHOUSE or THELAXHOUSE.com. This company’s registered agent is Daniel Soviero, who also holds the title of CEO and Founder of Signature Lacrosse. These balls are made in China and have all the right marks, but are not SEI certified for use. They do not have a NOCSAE license, either. The ball is not SEI certified to the NOCSAE standard, but the marks are used without permission. Be careful with what you get. They market game ready balls and ship these. They do not show the brand on their website and do not offer a phone number. SUPER SHADY! They use the term “independently tested”. These are Fraudulent and not legal for play. #3 - TruScope

TruScope has been dumping lacrosse balls through Amazon. They do not show the front of the balls on Amazon, and market them as excellent for play and for massage purposes

These are made in China. The factory and the ball are not SEI certified to the NOCSAE standard, but the marks are used without permission. These are Counterfeit and not legal for play. This company is based in Long Island, N.Y.

#4 - Lacrosse Scoop

Lacrosse Scoop is a company that set themselves up to review products made for the sport, They market their own ball, primarily through Amazon. This ball has no markings on the ball at all. They claim the ball is certified and meets all the standards. They review their own ball as the best buy. No kidding, when you sell counterfeit, you can charge less. We could not find where this company was located but will continue to research them.

#5 - The Lax House

The Lax House do not have Certfied SEI Balls and in the past have shipped Ksone and or Signature balls to customers saying that they are SEI Certified Game Balls and that is FALSE

For the most part, you can find many more brands of legitimate lacrosse balls, than you can find counterfeit. The choice is yours and we do not recommend one brand over another.
